Short description of the tour
We will visit Erice, the ancient Phoenician and Greek city, with its medieval atmosphere; we will visit Segesta with its important archaeological sites and the villages of the Belice valley; Palazzo Adriano, set of the Oscar-winning film “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso” and home, together with Bivona, of the Park of the Sicani Mountains, while we head south-west to the beautiful coast overlooking the Sicily channel.
Around Ragusa, we will visit the sites known around the world as “the places of Montalbano”, continuing on towards Mount Etna, Europe’s highest active volcano, on roads with breath-taking views until we reach the 2000m mark.
We will then head back towards the north of Sicily, with a last stop on the Nebrodi mountains and the Madonie, following the trail of the Targa Florio, one of the world’s most ancient automobile races.
