Short description of the tour
After having gotten our motorcycles in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, we will set off for our first stop in Mariental. To get there, we will cross the Kalahari desert, the largest extension without interruption of sand in the whole world, as well ass the Tropic of Capricorn. At the end of the day we will reach a charming lodge surrounded by red desert dunes.
Our journey will continue south-west towards the Namibian desert where we will see the spectacular Sossusvlei, one of Namibia’s main attractions, a clay basin surrounded by high sand dunes and the Dead Vlei, a forest of petrified secular acacias.
We will stop in the coastal town of Swakopmund, founded by the Germans, a place which still has a strong colonial connotation; here the Namib desert plunges into the Atlantic Ocean creating lagoons and salt pans populated by seals, dolphins, flamingos and waterfowl. We will then change scenery and visit the Erongo mountain range with its spectacular granite masses and the Damaraland region with its geological and landscape variations.
After visiting the graffiti and rock art of Twyfelfontein, we will reach the beautiful Palwag reserve. We will visit Kaokoland, the home of the fascinating Himba ethnic group. Its tribes live in small villages on the edge of the city of Opuwo. IClose encounters with elephants, giraffes, lions, rhinos, await you in the Etosha National Park where you will live an unforgettable experience. Namibia will remain in your heart forever due to the magic of its silences, the colors of it’s sunsets, the vigour of its bursting nature and the intensity of it’s breathtaking landscapes.
