Short description of the tour
Douz, “the gateway to the desert”, is a town right on the border of the Sahara and is the oldest oasis in Tunisia. It offers a breathtaking landscape of white sand dunes and forests of date palms. This land is the territory of the M’razig nomad shepherds.
Matmata, a village of Berber origin, is located on the outskirts of the Sahara desert. It is characterized by a unique troglodyte architecture, which became famous for being the set of Star Wars. Tembaine has beautiful mountains with flat peaks overlooking the sandy desert.
Ksar Ghilane is one of the most beautiful oases in northern Africa. It is located in a sandy part of the Sahara, right by the gates of the great eastern Erg, known as the “Great Eastern Sand Sea” on which stands a now ruined Roman fort.
